IT SPECIALIST

We're a growing Akron based IT consulting firm looking for a motivated, positive individual who desires to excel in the IT support field. Our goal is to offer the best onsite and remote IT support to local small and medium businesses. Therefore, we work with a wide variety of industries and technical environments and seek to add a flexible, professional individual eager to learn all aspects of IT service and support to our team. We strive to provide a positive, team based work environment with standard paid time off packages, travel reimbursements, availability of health care benefits and opportunities to grow professionally with the company.


The successful candidate will posses thorough knowledge of desktop operating systems, remote access technology, and spyware/virus cleaning. Troubleshooting Windows PCs and servers, Active Directory, and group policy will be a routine part of the job. The ability to have patience and clearly explain technical issues to others, no matter their IT skill set, fully document efforts and work performed, as well as collaborate with your team are all essential skills.


Continuing education, on the job training and exposure to a multitude of technology including Active Directory and group policy, Windows Server 2000-2008+, MS Small Business Server, IP networking, routing and switching, business IT environments are all part of the experience here at Area 51 Consulting. Any existing experience related to these topics and/or relevant certifications are not required but are advantageous and, if possessed, should be mentioned upon application.

Experience & Skills Required:


  • Windows (all versions)
  • Spyware/Virus removal & cleaning
  • Basic PC hardware troubleshooting & configuration
  • Basic network installation & troubleshooting

Schedule: Part-time & Full-time openings.
Flexible scheduling available - Tuesday and Thursday 8am-5pm availability strongly desired at this time. Can work around school schedules.

SENIOR IT SPECIALIST

SERVICEDESK SPECIALIST

We're a growing Akron based IT consulting firm looking for a motivated, positive individual who desires to excel in the IT support field. Our goal is to offer the best onsite and remote IT support to local small and medium businesses. Therefore, we work with a wide variety of industries and technical environments and seek to add a flexible, professional individual eager to learn all aspects of IT service and support to our team. We strive to provide a positive, team based work environment with professional growth and enhancement.

Regular duties of the ServiceDesk Specialist include but are not limited to:

  • Work with clients on incoming calls
  • Open and thoroughly update support tickets
  • Providing remote assistance where possible
  • Utilize our documentation systems for client support and record keeping
  • Maintain a high first call resolution ratio

The successful candidate will possess solid communication skills, superb organization habits, thorough knowledge of desktop operating systems, remote access technology, and basic troubleshooting. Troubleshooting will substantially involve Windows PCs and servers. The ability to have patience and clearly explain technical issues to others, no matter their IT skill set, fully document efforts and work performed, as well as collaborate with your team are all essential skills.
